Scenario:

After years of investigation, the FBI has obtained information indicating the presence of a portal in the Balkans suspected to lead to a parallel world or dimension. FBI agents have discovered that some local residents in the Balkans have stumbled upon this portal and began to explore and experiment with it. Soon after, reports of unusual events in the area started to surface.
